Call & Response
Many young people at MMAD suffer mentally, physically, socially & financially from traumatic experiences. For them, expressing their pain in lyrics, finding their voice by singing & escaping the world through music has helped them survive.
MMAD has surpassed two decades of life-changing work with children and young people in need. The passion, dedication, and talent of our beautiful team have seen MMAD grow from a voluntary project to an organisation with a national reach - impacting over 10,000 young people on the frontline annually across Australian communities, 40,000 people during outreach initiatives, and 1 million through online youth initiatives.
We deliver frontline and online creative support to engage, inspire, educate, and empower young people through the power of music and mentoring. Young people are the inspiration for all innovation, creativity, and impact within our very MMAD organisation.
Our initiatives include creative youth mentoring courses and scholarships, street outreach, a music soup kitchen, a creative street support group, a free national youth wellbeing platform, leadership development opportunities, educational content development, a national youth campaign, and some special social enterprises.
Backing from some of the world’s biggest musicians, alongside long-term global and local partners, has allowed MMAD to provide hope, support, and pathways for positive change for young people in some of the most troubled - but beautiful - parts of Australia.
MMAD has a number of key values that maintain our grassroots culture, heart, and excellence as we grow, including a belief that it takes a village to raise a child.
We are proud to unite with other charities, institutes, and community groups to ensure young people have the best possible chance to overcome personal adversity, follow new dreams, and find their place in the world.
Every young person deserves someone who believes in them—and the opportunity to live their potential.
