MMAD DAY BACKSTORY
Over 9 years ago, Musicians Making A Difference (MMAD) united with Universal Music Australia (UMA) to harness the inspirational experiences & talents of some very special young graduates from our charity. These young people, who were continuing on their journey from the streets towards their potential, helped to create a nationwide youth campaign culminating on a special day with an important aim: to reach thousands of other young lives through music.
That day was called MMAD Day.
Our inaugural campaign reached 700,000 people on socials; 1 million across mainstream media & radio, & over 2000 support posts across social platforms, trending in 2nd place to the #AMAs!
Since then, MMAD Day has become a multi-industry campaign with global & national powerhouse supporters across music, media, marketing & creative communities. It takes a very special village to raise a child; and with all of your help our reach has since exploded to over 20 million! Music always creates change.
Our annual campaign is no token feat. The impact made each year is far-reaching & meaningful with music breaking down barriers globally to connect with young people from all walks, inspiring them to never give up, to reach out for support, to help others in need, or to share stories of positivity through the power of music.
Every young person deserves someone who believes in them & the opportunity to live their potential.
